Google will stop sign-in for users running old versions of Android. People are receiving emails written “Signing in to your account on Google apps will no longer be supported on phones with Android version 2.3.7 or lower starting Sep. 27”.
This means that you will no longer be able to sign in on the old versions of the android.The old versions that will not be valid for login are following 1.0 G1(2008), 1.1,1.5 Cupcake(2009), 1.6 Donut(2009), 2.0 Eclair(2009), 2.2 Froyo(2010), and 2.3 Gingerbread(2011). In addition, Google says that this step is to protect privacy. When action will take you will see a username or password error while logging in to the apps.
Create an account on the device
Remove your account from the device and sign-in again
Change your password either on the same or other devices
Sign again after a factory reset.
You will see these errors on the screen if you are having old versions of the android. So for the protection of your privacy google has taken this step for a better user experience.
You must update the android version 3 or above for continuing google services. While a user can sign in to the phone’s browser. By signing in to the google browser you can use Google services.
Upgrade to android version 3 or above as Google will end up services the old versions of the android 2.3.7 or below. This action will be taken from coming 27 September 2021.
